Doing stuff in parallel
Published on
This is a living note on doing as much stuff in parallel as possible to get more than 24 hours per day. It is a big scheduling and organizational challenge. I could support this with tooling some day. Routines help for sure as well.
This note is a very very early draft. I am sure, that I can improve even more.
While eating:
- Watch documentary from a playlist of good sources
- Let an Agent work on the code base
While sleeping:
- Train a model / do an experiment
- Computer should create value the whole night
- Maybe even multiple experiments on multiple servers
- Automatic Write-Up and publishing of an artifact!
On the way to work:
- Let an Agent optimize my code base
- Train a model
- Watch university lecture
- Eat on the bike
- Getting to work
- Do Zone 2 training
Meeting friends:
- Do sports with friends
- Have good conversations to get closer
Doing sports:
- Podcasts
- Flashcards
Shared resources
It seems that I have a bunch of shared resources, like muscle energy, whole body energy, mental energy. Some tasks need only a subset of resources, like learning need only the brain. I can do something, that does not need the brain (like cardio) in parallel. It would be a good strategy to identify them, identify the dependencies and use this to do some planning and optimization.
Work on tools
If I work on tools that make me faster I work one derivation down. This is pure improvement. But don’t spend all time there. I need to get actual stuff done and tools get only good if they are used. So use only some time per week (20%?) for tool-building.
Other things
- Cleaning and things that don’t advance me to my Life Goals, etc. should be done by someone else.
- Let other people work for me and advance me to my goals is a complete other order of magnitude. But this requires skills, which I would need to learn first.
- I need to set up something to not backslide, Consume to Produce
